EMI digs Dino deal

Label pacts with Martin estate

EMI Music has expanded its deal with the Dean Martin estate to take over the licensing of Martin’s name, image and likeness in addition to his music.

Arrangement is the latest deal EMI has forged to oversee non-recording aspects of musicians’ careers. Company has also inked unique deals with Robbie Williams and Korn. EMI already markets Martin’s Capitol Records and Reprise Records recordings.

“Ultimately, it helps to ensure all our interests are aligned,” said EMI Music North America chairman-CEO David Munns.

Laura Lizer, Martin’s business manager and trustee of the Dean Martin Trust, said, “The Dean Martin Trust’s new partnership with EMI Music provides for a globally seamless approach to Dean’s music, name, image and likeness.”

Most recently, Capitol/EMI released an expanded version of “Christmas With Dino” on Sept. 12.
