ASCAP hosts songwriting and composing Expo
ASCAP will host a second edition of its “I Create Music” Expo for songwriters and composers April 19-21 at the Hollywood Renaissance Hotel.
Billed as the first and only national conference dedicated to songwriting and composing, “Music” is a wide-ranging program of panels, workshops and networking opportunities. The inaugural event attracted 1,800 music industry professionals and aspiring songwriters.
Attendance at next year’s event is expected to top this year’s, which included master Sessions with Desmond Child, Jill Scott and Jimmy Webb and a Q&A session with Tom Petty.
“At the 2007 Expo, we will take a close look at the future of this industry and how it benefits music creators,” said ASCAP CEO John LoFrumento.
Participants and panel subjects will be announced at a later date.
