The RTL Group had a record 2005, the company announced Wednesday.
Revenue of just over $6 billion was up 4.9% on 2004, with an EBITDA of $912 million, up 6.9%. Net profit rose 46.7% to $646 million. Group companies M6, RTL Nederland, the U.K.’s Five, RTL Belgium, Spain’s Antena 3 and FremantleMedia all reported record earnings. Following a strong second-half of the year, RTL Group’s German broadcasters reported viewing shares, ad revenues and operating margins “are back on track.” RTL Group topper Gerhard Zeiler was in an optimistic mood. “Despite somewhat mixed market conditions, the RTL Group achieved improvements in all the important figures.”RTL Group net profit up 46.7%
