’28th Amendment’ gets new helmer

Warner Bros. Pictures has tapped Oscar-winning docu director Kevin Macdonald to helm “28th Amendment,” voting to give new life to the long-gestating political thriller. Story revolves around a young U.S. president who discovers the existence of a secret cabal that runs the government and wants him dead. Scottish-born Macdonald took home the 2000 Oscar for best docu for “One Day in September,” which followed the tragic events of the Israeli athletes killed during the 1972 Summer Olympics in Munich. More recently, his docudrama “Touching the Void” picked up British film nods from BAFTA and the British Independent Film Awards.
