Young Playwrights will stage three one-acts by 18-or-under scribes during its 24th annual Young Playwrights Festival May 9-27.
Deborah Yarchun’s “FreezeFrame” ponders how to freeze a human soul; Kit Steinkellner’s “Los Angeles Lullaby” follows a young mother confronting her distant father; and Miriam Eichenbaum’s “Suicide Club” centers on the aftermath of a good girl’s suicide attempt in the school bathroom.
Founded by Stephen Sondheim, Young Playwrights counts Kenneth Lonergan and Rebecca Gilman among its alums.
Evening of three one-acts will run at the Peter Jay Sharp Theater. Official opening is May 17.
