Veteran cast fills up ‘Katz’

The Roundabout’s Off Broadway production of “Howard Katz” has signed a cast of veteran legiters, with Alvin Epstein (“Waiting for Godot”), Elizabeth Franz (“Death of a Salesman”), Jessica Hecht (“Julius Caesar”) and Euan Morton (“Taboo”), among others, joining topliner Alfred Molina.

Doug Hughes directs the U.S. preem of the play by Patrick Marber (“Closer”), about a cynical showbiz agent who falls on hard times.

Cast of nine includes Max Baker, Kristen Bush, Patrick Henney and Edward Hajj.

Show follows the Roundabout’s production of Tennessee Williams’ “Suddenly Last Summer,” which opened Wednesday and closes Jan. 14, into the Laura Pels Theater. “Katz” begins previews Feb. 2 for a March 8 opening.
