‘Steps’ climbing to West End

Legit Bit

A London stage adaptation of Alfred Hitchcock’s “The 39 Steps” will get a West End run starting Sept. 14.

The tongue-in-cheek show, which was a hit for the Tricycle Theater earlier this summer, re-creates every scene of the Hitchcock thriller about a visitor to London who meets a woman on the run. Cast of four includes Cath-erine McCormack (“Braveheart”) and Charles Edwards (“Hayfever”); Maria Aitken directs an adaptation by Patrick Barlow.

“The 39 Steps” is skedded to play at the Criterion Theater through Jan. 13.
