Steppenwolf preems ‘Bleeding’

Chi company opens DeLillo's latest

Steppenwolf Theater in Chi will mount the world preem of Don DeLillo’s “Love-Lies-Bleeding,” beginning perfs April 27.

Production, with a cast that includes John Heard (“Prison Break”), runs through May 28, then plays the Ken-nedy Center’s Terrace Theater June 17-25 as part of the center’s Fund for New American Plays showcase.

The latest from novelist-playwright DeLillo (“White Noise,” “Valparaiso”) centers on an invalid artist and his family’s struggle with the question of mercy killing.
