‘Shrek’ creatives get aboard

Tuner produced by D'Works Animation, Neal Street Prods.

“Shrek: The Musical” is nailing down its creative team, with Jeanine Tesori (“Thoroughly Modern Millie,” “Caroline, or Change”) confirmed to compose the music and Tim Hatley aboard to design sets and costumes, with his “Monty Python’s Spamalot” collaborator, Hugh Vanstone, providing lights.

Based on the hit 2001 CG pic, tuner is produced by DreamWorks Animation and Sam Mendes’ Neal Street Prods. David Lindsay-Abaire (“Rabbit Hole”) is writing the book and lyrics; Jason Moore (“Avenue Q”) directs.

Production aims to hit the boards in 2008.
