“Shout! The Mod Musical,” a tuner that follows the lives of five women through 1960s pop, is set for Off Broadway’s Julia Miles Theater starting July 11.
Created and staged by Phillip George and David Lowenstein, the show incorporates familiar songs such as “To Sir With Love,” “Son of a Preacher Man” and “Downtown.” It originated at the Duplex in Gotham before it played London in 2001.
Plus Entertainment produces the Off Broadway incarnation.
The Women’s Project, which usually puts up its shows in the Julia Miles, will produce its next offering, Melanie Marnich’s “Cradle of Man,” in September at another venue not yet determined. The theater will resume producing at the Julia Miles in January.
“We’ll move on as the life of the show dictates,” “Shout!” producer Victoria Lang said.
