Kennedy Center adds to ‘Carnival!’ cast

Sevasti will take on lead role of Lili

The Kennedy Center has completed casting for its production of “Carnival!” slated for the Eisenhower Theater in February. Jim Stanek, Sebastian La Cause, Natascia Diaz, Jonathan Lee Iverson and Sean Martin Hingston are among actors selected by director-choreographer Robert Longbottom.

Plucked for the lead role of Lili, an orphan who joins a traveling circus, is New Jersey-based thesp Ereni Sevasti. She has played the Garden State’s Paper Mill House, George Street Playhouse and the Chatham Playhouse in productions of “The Sound of Music,” “All the King’s Horses” and “Little Shop of Horrors.”

The “Carnival!” revival, with book by Michael Stewart, music and lyrics by Bob Merrill, runs Feb. 17-March 11.
