Forsman new a.d. for Dorest

Helmer takes on fest next summer

Gotham director Carl Forsman is set to become a.d. of the Dorset Theater Festival, the summer fest in Vermont.

Forsman, who takes the reins in Dorset next summer, also will continue as a.d. of New York’s Keen Company, the troupe he founded in 2000. His first production at DTF will be a June staging of Thornton Wilder’s “Theophilus North,” which he helmed for Keen in a production that opened in September.

“I hope DTF and Keen Company will become kissing cousins — companies whose shared resources will make possible any number of partnerships,” Forsman said.

He also has directed Off Broadway for the New Group (“Sin: A Cardinal Deposed”) and the Atlantic (Ionesco double bill “The Bald Soprano” and “The Lesson”).
