First Stage skeds ‘Victor’ reading

Weiss stars in the play about Viennese psychiatrist

Cliff Johnson’s one-man play “A Visit With Viktor Frankl” gets a staged reading at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 11, at First Stage Theater in Hollywood.

Arnold Weiss stars in the play about Frankl, the Viennese psychiatrist who coined the term “logotherapy.” Named to head the neurological department of the only hospital for Jews in Vienna in 1940, Frankl made false diagnoses of his patients in order to circumvent the Nazis’ policies requiring euthanasia of the mentally ill. A concentration camp survivor himself, he had a long teaching career and published numerous books.

First Stage is located at 6817 Franklin Ave. at Highland, on the second floor of the church. Parking is free next to the church. For more information, call 323-850-6271.
