From the Roundabout, two bits of news:
John Cullum (“Urinetown”) joins Audra McDonald in the nonprofit’s upcoming Broadway revival of tuner “110 in the Shade.” Cullum will play the father of McDonald, whose character falls for a mysterious drifter played by Steve Kazee (“Spamalot”).
Musical, which first played on Broadway in 1963, is based on N. Richard Nash’s 1954 play “The Rainmaker.”
At the Roundabout’s Off Broadway space, the theater’s production of “Suddenly Last Summer,” starring Blythe Danner and Carla Gugino, has extended its run by a week. It now closes Jan. 20.
