A Tony nom wasn’t enough to keep “The Caine Mutiny Court-Martial” afloat.
The Broadway revival of Herman Wouk’s courtroom drama, which stars David Schwimmer, announced it would shutter Sunday. News came just hours after co-star Zeljko Ivanek scored a Tony nod for his performance as Captain Queeg.
Show received unenthusiastic notices from critics when it opened May 7, and the Rialto debut of “Friends” star Schwimmer wasn’t enough to draw crowds. For the week ending May 14, “Caine” grossed just $163,935.
Short-lived production will have been on the boards six weeks.
