Bard headed to B’way

Thesps, helmer help Shakespeare Society

The Shakespeare Society has enlisted helmer Jack O’Brien and thesps Marin Mazzie, Tom Wopat and Brian d’Arcy James, among others, for an evening centered on Broadway tuner versions of the Bard’s tales.

Set for Sept. 25, the event pairs snippets from “The Comedy of Errors,” “The Taming of the Shrew” and “Romeo and Juliet” with bits from their Rialto counterparts, “The Boys From Syracuse,” “Kiss Me, Kate” and “West Side Story,” respectively. O’Brien provides commentary.

Show happens at the Kaye Playhouse at Hunter College.
