Ball gives ‘All’ to NYTW

Scribe to preem play in January

Oscar-winning “American Beauty” screenwriter and “Six Feet Under” creator Alan Ball will world-premiere “All That I Will Ever Be,” his first new play in more than a dozen years, at the New York Theater Workshop in January.

The play is described as a tale of cultural imperialism and our eternal search for belonging as seen through the eyes of two young men in Los Angeles, one a restless native Angeleno, the other an enigmatic immigrant from the Middle East.

Busy Off Broadway regular Jo Bonney (“Some Girl(s),” “A Soldier’s Play”) will direct the production; no casting has been announced.

Ball’s previous plays include “Five Women Wearing the Same Dress,” “Bachelor Holiday,” “Power Lunch” and “Your Mother’s Butt.”
