LAS VEGAS — “Rock of Ages” moves one giant step closer to a permanent Vegas venue as the hair-metal tuner rolls into the Flamingo Las Vegas for a one-week engagement starting Saturday.
Presented by VH1 Classic, the show preemed in Los Angeles at the Vanguard in late January (Daily Variety, Nov. 30).
Plot revolves around a wannabe rock star, a Hollywood starlet and a foundering club on L.A.’s Sunset Strip. The time-tripping tuner showcases adapted songs by such ’80s rockers as Pat Benatar, Journey and REO Speedwagon.
Directed by Kristen Hanggi, musical stars Seana Harris, Jack Blades,James Snyder, Josh Greene, Chris Hardwick and Michele Mais. Also featured are David Holladay, Tom Lenk, Jeremy Rabb and Patty Wortham.
“Rock of Ages” is an effort by the Flamingo to attract younger customers to its property.
Tickets are on sale for $55-$65.
