Yeung plays Fung Siu-min, one of a trio of “beer girls” who tour sidewalk eateries promoting brands of brew. She’s famous for being able to imbibe huge quantities of alcohol without getting drunk. One night, she bumps into sozzled chef Michael (Daniel Wu), who’s about to shutter his French restaurant, and they become partners. Pair eventually ends up between the sheets; but then Michael gets an offer from a tough Mainland cutie (TV thesp Hu Jing) with eyes for more than his souffles. Comic side of Fung’s alcohol capacity is simply a hook into the main story, which centers on her perennial problems with men. But Yeung, who still looks as if she’s just walked on set for the fun of it, makes the brew bubble, and both Wu and Alex Fong (as a wannabe gangster) are simpatico.
