Warner’s Spain topper ankles

GM sets out on his own

Warner Bros.’ numero uno in Spain, Enrique Posner, has ankled as general manager of Warner Bros. Pictures Intl., Spain.

Sources at Cannes attributed Posner’s resignation to his desire to set up his own company, either in distribution or production.

Posner’s contract was nearing an end, and both sides mutually agreed to part ways.

Posner was appointed WB general manager in Spain in January. This came after former WB general manager Luis Hernandez de Carlos also left WB’s Spanish op following the shuttering in January of Warner Sogefilms, WB’s joint distribution venture for Spain with Spanish pay TV and production company Sogecable.

Working with Paris-based Simona Benzakein, WB VP of European productions, Posner collaborated on productions such as Guillermo del Toro’s Cannes competish player “Pan’s Labyrinth.”
