Berenbaum has also penned 'Spiderwick' adaptation
Universal has nabbed sci-fi comedy pitch “Zoo.”
David Berenbaum, who penned “Elf,” developed the pitch from a treatment by Ehren Kruger, who will produce with Daniel Bobker through their Bobker/Kruger shingle. The plot is being kept under wraps.
In addition to “Elf,” Berenbaum has also penned an adaptation of kids’ fantasy series “The Spiderwick Chronicles” for Paramount and Nickelodeon Films.
His other credits include Revolution’s upcoming “Zoom’s Academy” and Disney’s “The Haunted Mansion.”
Kruger penned and Bobker produced “The Skeleton Key” for U and “The Brothers Grimm” for Dimension and MGM.
Bobker/Kruger also are developing two pics for U: “Dream House,” a David Loucka spec that Erik Van Looy recently signed on to helm, and “Night and Day You Are the One,” an adaptation of a Ken Kalfus short story that Jon Bokenkamp is penning.
