Dakota Fanning, Robin Wright Penn and David Morse are set to star in an untitled indie pic that Deborah Kampmeier is directing and writing.

Kampmeier is producing with Kelly Thomas, Raye Dowell and Terry Leonard. Wright Penn is exec producing.

Storyline, set in the South in 1961, revolves around a precocious girl who overcomes the negative effects of abuse by singing and dancing like Elvis.

Pic began shooting this week in Wilmington, N.C.

Fanning (“Dreamer,” “War of the Worlds”) recently wrapped Paramount’s animated kidpic “Charlotte’s Web,” which is skedded for a Christmas release.

Wright Penn starred in Kampmeier’s debut feature, the fest favorite “Virgin.” She also stars in the Weinstein Co.s’ upcoming “Breaking and Entering” and Warner Bros. Pictures’ “Beowulf.”

Morse next stars in “Disturbia” from DreamWorks and Paramount. Pic is now in post.
