Toronto fest group shuffles board

Atkinson named to vice chair

TORONTO — The Toronto Intl. Film Festival Group upped board member Paul Atkinson to vice chair and chair-elect in a reshuffle Thursday.

Atkinson, CEO of digital media company Casero, has been on the board since 2004 and heads fund-raising for the group’s new home, Festival Center, which is expected to open in 2009.

Group has raised C$132 million ($118.8 million) of the center’s projected budget of $176.4 million.

Atkinson will become chair next June when Allen Karp steps down. Karp will remain on the board.

In addition, Irene Chu and David J. Kassie have been elected to the board.
