Indie distrib ThinkFilm has acquired all worldwide rights to the Sundance pic “Off the Black,” starring Nick Nolte, Timothy Hutton, Sally Kirkland and Trevor Morgan.
Penned and helmed by James Ponsoldt, film follows a teen who forms an unlikely friendship with an irascible high school umpire.
ThinkFilm will roll out the pic in November and offer international rights in Cannes.
Scott Macaulay and Robin O’Hara, of Forensic Films, produced.
Bob Hariri, Meg Mortimer, Maggie Meade and Steve Kalafer were exec producers.
Think’s upcoming credits include the Gael Garcia Bernal/William Hurt starrer “The King” and TV adaptation “Strangers With Candy.”
