The ‘Invasion’ is back on again

Silver's 'Snatchers' redo formerly known as 'Visiting'

Joel Silver‘s redo of the sci-fi classic “Invasion of the Body Snatchers” is back to being called “The Invasion,” instead of “The Visiting.”

Silver is producing the Nicole Kidman and Daniel Craig starrer for Warner Bros. Pictures, which releases the pic next year.

Warners and Silver decided to switch the title from “The Invasion” to “The Visiting” last fall, so as not to be confused with the ABC series “Invasion.”

But the TV skein, also alien-themed, was canceled, giving Silver his chance.

Silver’s “Invasion,” helmed by German director Oliver Hirschbiegel and penned by David Kajganich, doesn’t follow the same story as the previous “Invasion of the Body Snatchers,” but it’s still nice to maintain a connection — even if it’s just one word.
