Studios stake holiday dates

Sked shifts include pix 'Evan Almighty,' 'Charlotte's Web'

Sony, Universal and the Weinstein Co. are staking their claim on the holidays, all setting big movies to open in December.

U’s “Bruce Almighty” sequel “Evan Almighty” will bow Dec. 22, the Friday before Christmas. Competition on the date includes kidpics “Night at the Museum” from Fox and “Charlotte’s Web” from Par, along with U’s own spy drama “The Good Shepherd.”

Sony is claiming Dec. 8 for Nancy Meyers-helmed comedy “The Holiday.” It’s currently the only pic on that date.

Weinstein Co. will open David Zucker-helmed spoof “Superhero!” in December as well, though a date hasn’t yet been set. Pic was just fast-tracked into production.
