Teutonic film co. hires 'Scholl' producer
MUNICH — Teutonic distribution/production outfit Senator has appointed Goldkind Film topper Christoph Mueller as its production chief.
Mueller produced Marc Rothemund’s Oscar-nominated Nazi drama “Sophie Scholl.”
Senator recently emerged from 30 months of insolvency and is under the new management of L.A.-based producer Marco Weber. Weber also has hired ex-Kinowelt Peter Heinzemann to run Senator’s distribution arm and Vanessa Coifman to head Senator’s L.A. production office.
“I’ve known Christoph for more than 15 years, and he was always my first choice for this position. He’s got an excellent nose for scripts, and with ‘Sophie Scholl’ he’s proven that he can turn these into successful films,” Weber said.
Goldkind and Senator are in pre-production on an adaptation of Teutonic bestseller “Vollidioten” (Total Idiots) to be produced by Mueller’s Goldkind business partner Sven Burgemeister.
