Rotterdam boasts nine world preems

Winners guaranteed local distrib and $12,000

ROTTERDAM — Nine world, three international and two Euro preems feature in the final lineup of competish pics at the International Film Festival Rotterdam.

Top three winners in the VPRO Tiger Awards lineup of first and second feature film lensers each take home Euros 10,000 ($12,000). In addition to the prizes, broadcaster VPRO guarantees distribution in Holland.

Lineup includes U.S. pics Robert Edwards’ “Land of the Blind” and Kelly Reichardt’s “Old Joy.”

“Land of the Blind” and Dutch pic “Northern Light” have already been picked up for local distrib by Indies Entertainment and One More Film, respectively.

Fest begins unspooling Jan. 25 for a 12-day run.
