Roissy strikes up band with Israeli film pickup

Co. to handle int'l territories for Aloni's 'Forgiveness'

France’s Roissy Films has picked up for international sales for the Panorama-selected Israeli film “Forgiveness.”

Politico psychological thriller by Udi Aloni tells the story of a young Israeli who leaves America to return to his home country, where a trauma he suffers while serving in the army lands him in a mental institution.

Pic features the music of New York-based Israeli band Balkan Beat Box and Dam, a Palestinian rap group, who performed together Monday night at Berlin’s Home Base club.

Roissy’s lineup at Berlin includes Gallic box office phenom “Friends Forever,” a sequel 25 years after the cult “Les Bronzes” comedy franchise. Pic has notched up more than 6 million admissions in less than two weeks on French screens.

Roissy has struck distribution deals on the new pic with distribbers in Greece and the C.I.S. territories.
