Philly mogul bows Tycoon

Production shingle preps Legend docu

Philadelphia commercial real estate mogul David Grasso is bowing production company Tycoon Entertainment.

Among the first projects is an untitled concert docu on Grammy-winning R&B artist John Legend.

Tycoon prexy of production Mike Jackson used to manage Legend.

Docu follows the singer on his current tour and includes behind-the-scenes interviews.

Tycoon expects to wrap production in the next several months after filming the musician’s stops in South Africa and South America.

Tycoon intends to turn out three to four films a year, with budgets ranging from $500,000 to $25 million.

Tycoon and Vox3 Films (“Fur,” “Secretary”) are teaming on psychological drama “Feel,” written and directed by Matt Mahurin. Pic, starring William Baldwin, is in post-production.

Tycoon also is in post on ensemble comedy “The Lather Effect,” starring Eric Stoltz, Tate Donovan, Connie Britton, Peter Facinelli and Ione Skye.

Grasso, who is splitting his time between Philly and Los Angeles, partnered with the House of Blues on two locations in Philadelphia.

Tycoon’s exec ranks also include chief operating officer David Dinenberg. Production venture is a division of Grasso Holdings.
