'Meet the Oscars' opens in Los Angeles

HOLLYWOOD — “Meet the Oscars: The 50 Golden Statuettes” will open in Los Angeles on Friday at the Hollywood & Highland complex.

Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences prexy Sid Ganis and exec director Bruce Davis will be on hand, along with CIM Group principal Shaul Kuba and Joan Maloney, designer of this year’s dual posters.

Exhibit runs through March 3 and features the Oscar statuette Clark Gable won in 1934 for “It Happened One Night” along with the 50 that will be presented to the winners of the 78th Academy Awards.

In other Oscar news, Clint Eastwood and Queen Latifah have signed on as presenters for the March 5 ceremony.
