Distrib scores Tautou starrer, 'House of Happiness'

Barcelona-based distrib Notro has picked up all Spanish rights on the Claude Berri-helmed “Ensemble, c’est tout,” toplining Audrey Tautou, and Berri-produced “La maison de bonheur” (The House of Happiness) from France’s Pathe.

Notro also has licensed Spain for Rachid Bouchareb’s “Days of Glory,” which won the actor award at the Cannes Film Festival, and Korean Bong Joon-ho’s Directors Fortnight player “The Host,” regarded by many as one of the fest’s standout titles.

Its Cannes acquisitions are rounded out by a pair from Japan’s Shochiku: Hirokazu Kore-eda’s period drama “Hana” and the untitled next pic from veteran Yoji Yamada, who broke through to fame with “The Twilight Samurai” and “The Hidden Blade,” both of which Notro bought for Spain.

Launched in September 2004, Notro has expanded fast, moving into international sales in 2005 and production with Directors Fortnight screener “Honor de cavalleria” (Honor of the Knights) from Albert Serra.

Handled at Cannes by Notro and Eldorado Intl., “Zulo” (Hole) sold to Japan’s Zazie Films.
