Spanish distributor New World Films Intl. has picked up all Spanish rights to Luc Besson’s live-action/animated family pic “Arthur and the Minimoys.”
Adapted and helmed by French filmmaker Besson, pic follows the story of 10-year-old Arthur, who ventures into the secret world of the Minimoys. Pic toplines Freddie Highmore and Mia Farrow, with Madonna, Snoop Dogg and David Bowie among those providing voices.
“Arthur” was acquired by New World from Besson’s EuropaCorp at May’s Cannes market, where the Madrid-based company also inked with Mandate Pictures on supernatural thriller “Solstice,” helmed by Daniel Myrick (“The Blair Witch Project”).
