Myriad drives ‘Trailer’

Reitman to produce 'Boys'

Myriad Pictures has picked up worldwide rights to comedy “Trailer Park Boys: The Movie,” which is based on the long-running Canada Showcase Television skein.

Myriad takes world rights except for Canada, where the pic opened this month to a No. 1 bow.

Movie exec produced by Ivan Reitman follows the antics of three pals looking to complete one last criminal job so they can retire and give up their life of crime.

Mike Clattenburg helmed the pic, which he co-penned with Rob Wells. Clattenburg co-produced with Barrie Dunn and Michael Volpe.

Myriad also announced at AFM that the banner has tapped Trevor Wright as exec director, sales and distribution.

He came to the company from Kathy Morgan Intl. Myriad’s upcoming projects include the Houdini drama “Death Defying Acts,” starring Catherine Zeta-Jones and Guy Pearce, and “Dark Matter,” starring Meryl Streep and Aidan Quinn.
