‘Mum’ is the word at Think

Brit laffer stars Atkinson, Smith, Swayze

ThinkFilm has picked up domestic distribution rights to British comedy “Keeping Mum,” starring Rowan Atkinson, Kristin Scott Thomas, Maggie Smith and Patrick Swayze.

ThinkFilm is eyeing a September release.

Niall Johnson, who penned “White Noise,” wrote the script with Richard Russo, who came up with the original story. Johnson also directed.

Story revolves around an absent-minded vicar who fails to notice his wife’s dalliance with a golf instructor, or the fact that his two children are up to no good. Things seem to get better when they hire a sweet, gray-haired housekeeper.

Producers are Tusk Prods.’ Julia Palau and Matthew Payne. Emilia Fox, Tamsin Egerton and Toby Parkes also star.

ThinkFilm’s upcoming release sked “Strangers With Candy” (June 28), “Half Nelson” (Aug. 11) and, in October, “Candy.”
