SITGES, Spain — Spanish thesp Jordi Molla (“Bad Boys 2,” “Blow”) and Argentine actor Dario Grandinetti (“Talk to Her,” “The Dark Side of the Heart”) have joined the cast of “Epoxy.”
The psychological thriller will center on a thesping duel between Grandinetti, who plays a detective investigating the disappearance of a woman, and Molla, who plays the prime suspect, a man with a multiple personality disorder.
Cast also includes the previously announced Cecilia Roth (“All About My Mother”).
Pic will mark the debut of Spain-based Argentine cinematographer Ricardo Akershtein. Screenplay is by Catalan legit scribe David Desolas.
“Epoxy,” which is scheduled to shoot in Spain and Brazil early next year, is being produced by Barcelona-based Bonita Films, Brazil’s Moonshot and Argentina’s Malkina. Pic’s producers are Josep Amoros, Bonita partner Emmanuelle Stumpler and Moonshot’s Roberto D’Avila.
“We’ve tried to put talent and coin together from different origins, so as to open markets and help the pic to work internationally,” D’Avila said.
