CANNES — Madrid’s Media Business School is launching the Mediterranean Film Business School to provide training in film co-production, financing, legal aspects, marketing and distribution.
The MFBS is running two four-day training sessions, the first in the mountain town of Ronda, in southern Spain, June 21-24, the second in Turkey, Oct. 4-8.
Sessions include case study analysis and one-to-one consultation about the projects of participating producers and directors to accelerate financing and hone their market potential.
Course is open to filmmakers from the European-Mediterranean partnership countries of Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Egypt, Israel, Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, Palestine and Turkey.
“Looking at applications, you can see that the standard of participants is high and some of the projects are notably ambitious,” said MBS director Hugo Lasarte.
The MFBS is backed by the European Union under the aegis of the Euromed program.
