McG, Cirulnick go Greek

New Regency buys mythic redo

McG and Matt Cirulnick have sold an untitled pitch to New Regency, with Cirulnick set to pen the script and McG’s Wonderland Sound and Vision to produce.

Cirulnick’s original idea is a modern retelling of a classic Greek myth.

McG is producing, and Wonderland VP David Manpearl, who brought in the project, will exec produce.

Project marks Cirulnick’s sophomore outing with New Regency, having written and co-produced New Regency pic “Vandal.” Cirulnick’s TV credits include UPN’s “South Beach” and an untitled drama he sold to Spike that he’s exec producing with Ice Cube.

Wonderland just released Disney’s low-budget feature “Stay Alive” and is prepping a remake of “Revenge of the Nerds” at Fox’s new teen division, Fox Atomic. McG is directing Warner Bros.’ “We Are Marshall.”
