Mandate gets ‘Ghouly’

Studio nabs rights to kiddie comicbook

Mandate Pictures has optioned the film rights to comicbook series “The Ghouly Boys,” with Benderspink attached to produce. Created, written and illustrated by the artist known as Christopher, “The Ghouly Boys” was first published in 2004 by Slave Labor Graphics Publishing. The comics are based on four sweet, young monsters — a wolf boy, a kid zombie, a young sea monster and a third-generation boogie man (or, boy) — who have a hard time fitting in with the “normal” human kids. When they find each other, they set out, accompanied by their loyal, flight-challenged pet bat, on an adventure of their own.
