Kudos focus on students

ASC honors Burgoyne, White, Rocha-Campos

The American Society of Cinematographers is awarding its Jordan Cronenweth Heritage Award to Brian Burgoyne of the American Film Institute, Rodrigo Rocha-Campos of Florida State U. and Joseph White of USC.

Kudos will be presented at the 20th annual ASC awards gala on Feb. 26 at the Century Plaza. The honor’s named for the late cinematographer, whose credits include “Blade Runner,” “Peggy Sue Got Married,” “Altered States” and “Cutter’s Way.”

ASC cited Burgoyne for “The Red Veil,” which follows a young woman working as a saloon dancer in an isolated village; Rocha-Campos for his short thesis film “The Resurrectionist,” a horror movie about a gravedigger who tries to deliver a stolen corpse to a medical school; and White for “Rogue 379,” which chronicles a CIA assassin’s exploits.
