Skein to appear in advance of Favreau-directed feature
“Iron Man” will come to the small screen before it hits the megaplex.Marvel is developing an “Iron Man” cartoon skein for next fall, months before the Jon Favreau-helmed “Iron Man” is scheduled to premiere. The strategy is similar to that for the “Fantastic Four” franchise which was adapted for television and will debut on Cartoon Network in August. The live-action film “Fantastic Four 2,” produced by 20th Century Fox is skedded for theaters in June 2007. Marvel announced the “Iron Man” skein at a party to unveil new Marvel-inspired Hasbro toys at Comic-Con in San Diego. Marvel veep Craig Kyle described the upcoming “Fantastic Four” skein as a “comedy-adventure series that kids and parents can watch together.” The animated skeins are being developed separately from the live-action features, but Kyle said they will support each other. “We never feel like we are stepping on each others’ toes,” he said. “It’s a way to spread out the character and get to as many fans as possible.”
