HATCHfest honors industry vets, newcomers

'Young Guns'' Cain given the Mentorship Award

HATCHfest 2006 honors industry vets and newcomers in Bozeman, MT.

Maia Horniak was presented with the Moonlight Basin Outstanding Filmmaker Award for “Loveproof.” Chris Cain (“Young Guns” and “September Dawn”) was given the HATCH Mentorship Award. Actors and actresses who Cain discovered and worked with including Jon Voight, Kiefer Sutherland, and Jennifer Garner, paid tribute to Cain with a video presentation. Amy Berg’s new Lionsgate film “Deliver Us from Evil” was given the festival’s Feature Film Award.

HATCHfest first started in 2004, bringing in student filmmakers from around the world to Bozeman for an opportunity to work with and be mentored by seasoned professionals in their field. The mission: to provide mentorship, education, inspiration and recognition to the next generation of creative innovators.
