Spanish distrib Golem has picked up all Spanish rights to Laurent Tirard’s comedy “Moliere,” a biopic of the 17th century French master of comic satire.
Paris-based Wild Bunch is selling the pic at the American Film Market.
A Pamplona-based specialty distrib as well as an exhibitor and producer, Golem has also acquired Spanish rights to a second Wild Bunch title: Italian immigration fable “The Golden Door.”
Helmed by Emanuele Crialese, who drew a director nomination for the European Film Awards on Saturday, “Door” is Italy’s candidate in the foreign-language Oscar category.
“Door” chronicles Italians traveling to America in search of a promised land. Pic screens this week in the Focus Italy section at the Seville Film Festival in Spain.
