Filmax going on ghost romp

Sales company nabs rights to 'Totenwackers'

Spanish sales outfit Filmax Intl. has taken international rights to Ibon Cormenzana’s ghost adventure romp “The Totenwackers.”

The Spanish-language pic is about a family who move into an old house haunted by the ghost of its former owner.

Pic’s budget — E3.5 million ($4.6 million) — is around twice the norm for Spanish films.

Project was moved by Cormenzana’s Barcelona-based label Arcadia Motion Pictures and set up as a co-production between Arcadia, Galicia production house Filmanova and the U.K.’s Future Films.

“Totenwackers” will be presented to international buyers at NATPE and the Berlin Film Festival.
