ROME — Thesp Isabella Ferrari will host the opening and closing ceremonies of the 63rd Venice Film Festival, the Biennale announced Friday.
Festival will screen Brian De Palma’s adaptation of the James Ellroy noir crime novel “The Black Dahlia” as well as present the jury on opening night.
This year’s jury is presided over by Catherine Deneuve.
Ferrari won the Coppa Volpi as best supporting actress for her perf in Ettore Scola’s “Romanzo di un giovane povero” (The Story of a Poor Young Man) at Venice’s 1995 festival.
The Venice Film Festival runs Aug. 30-Sept. 9.
