Comedian to star in Wells' adaptation
LONDON — British funnyman Lee Evans has been tapped for the lead of new ITV skein “The History of Mr. Polly.”
The two-hour drama, skedded to air later this year, is an adaptation of H.G. Wells’ novel about a man’s decision to change his life after failing to commit suicide.
Evans had been tipped to be heading to Broadway in Matthew Warchus’ London production of Samuel Beckett’s “Endgame,” in which he co-starred with Michael Gambon in 2004.
