Doc gets view from Balcony

Indie distrib rolling out Kushner pic

Indie distrib Balcony Releasing has come aboard to roll out the docu “Wrestling With Angels,” about playwright Tony Kushner.

Balcony has pegged an Oct. 4 rollout for the pic written, directed and produced by Freida Lee Mock. Terry Sanders exec produced the American Film Foundation production.

Pic follows the rise of Kushner — whose credits include “Angels in America,” “Caroline, or Change” and “Homebody/Kabul” — to socially active artist from his roots in the deep South.

Connie White and Greg Kendall launched Balcony in 2002 to roll out the Sundance pic “Daughter From Danang.”

Banner’s other credits include the upcoming “Al Franken: God Spoke,” as well as “Sir! No Sir!,” “The Same River Twice,” “Trudell,” “39 Pounds of Love” and “Love and Diane.”
