Studio sets Berlin slate

Lionsgate will pre-sell international rights to Lucy Liu starrer “Devil to Pay” at the upcoming European Film Market, which runs during the Berlin Film Fest.
Pic is being produced by Echo Lake Prods.’ Doug Mankoff and Andrew Spaulding, and Intellectual Properties Worldwide’s J. Todd Harris. Marc Toberoff at IPW is exec producer.
Story, from a screenplay by Michael Gilvary, revolves around a single mother who is forced to rob a bank after her kids are taken hostage.
In addition to the Sundance debut of “Dreamland,” Echo Lake’s current slate includes 2005 Toronto Film Fest opener “Water,” which will be released in April by Fox Searchlight, and “Twelve and Holding,” which IFC Films will unspool in June. Mankoff also served as exec producer on “Tsotsi,” which Miramax will release next Month.
“Devil to Pay” is among a stable of films that Lionsgate Film Intl. will showcase to buyers attending Berlin, including dirty bomb thriller “Right at Your Door,” which Lionsgate scooped up last week at Sundance. Lionsgate will distrib the pic in the U.S., but will be looking to sell off certain other territories.
Other films on Lionsgate’s Berlin slate include Jet Li and Jason Statham starrer “Rogue,” music docu “Leonard Cohen I’m Your Man” and WWI action drama “Flyboys” starring Jean Reno and James Franco.
