Six films compete for fest's Golden Hitchcock prize
PARIS — Brit thesp Charles Dance, Romanian helmer Radu Mihaileanu, Korean actress Yun Chung-hi and French agent turned producer Dominique Besnehard have joined the jury of the Dinard Festival of British Film, unspooling in the Brittany seaside resort Oct. 5-8.
Also judging alongside previously announced jury president Francois Berleand will be Brit actor Stephen Mangan, Irish actress Bronagh Gallagher and French actresses Chantal Lauby and Evelyne Bouix.
Six films will compete for the fest’s Golden Hitchcock prize. Event opens Thursday evening with Gallic preem of Stephen Frears’ “The Queen,” and wraps with a gala screening of Andrea Arnold’s “Red Road.”
Carol Reed’s “The Fallen Idol” and Antoine de Caunes’ “Desaccord Parfait” will receive special screenings, and the festival will feature retrospectives of the work of actors Brian Cox, Leslie Philips and docu maker Michael Grigsby.
Shane Meadows will give a director’s masterclass.
