Court bans A films

World Brief

The Bombay High Court on Wednesday banned cablers and satcasters from airing films with an A (above 18 years) rating in India.

However, it has allowed films certified U/A (above 12 years with parental guidance).

Move comes after police raided the offices of cablers, including News Corp.’s Star bouquet and HBO, accusing them of airing the films, described as banned adult content.

The cablers switched off their services in a two-day protest.
